Bharathi collaborated with Shanti Ashram for the past 13 years to support its 'India Poverty Solutions' initiative. India Poverty Solutions is led by
children and youth, aiming to address child poverty. One solution involves children using a Hundi/Piggy bank, in which they save money over time and
contribute the funds to eradicate child poverty. This year, Bharathi's outreach programme began with an orientation session by Mr. G. Vijayaraghavan,
Head of the Youth Leadership Programme at Shanti Ashram. The session raised awareness of child poverty and emphasised our collective responsibility to make
a significant impact with our available resources.
Bharathians received piggy banks to save money and support Shanti Ashram's programmes to eradicate
child poverty.
Students from LKG to Grade 12 contributed food grains to Shanti Ashram to support their poverty solution programme. The student council members collected the grains, and the coordinators handed them over to the representatives from Shanti Ashram.
Students from Grades 6 to 8 contributed the money they had saved to their piggy banks, which they then handed over to representatives from Shanti Ashram.
