Bharathi's Annual Sports Day 2025 - Day 1

Bharathi School held its Annual Sports Day (Seniors) on the 27th of June 2025 at the Multi-sport turf, Yuva Enclave. Ms. Nivetha Muthukumar, a top 10 national-level Junior Women's Badminton player who represented India in the Thomas and Uber Cup 2023, presided as the Chief Guest and declared the Sports Day open. Mr. Neil Guha, Senior Principal, presented the Chief Guest with a memento in the presence of dignitaries, including Mr. Anand, a member of the School's Management, and the Principal of the sister concern.

 The students' March past, led by NCC Army and Air Wing cadets, followed by the students of Bharathi's houses (Noble, Peace, Truth, and Charity), was a sight to behold. The display events, such as yoga, a Japanese fan drill, and a Coconut shell drill, showcased their impeccable practice, precision and discipline. The students representing their houses competed with vigour and zeal in the finals of the track and field events. The winners were honoured by the Chief Guest, Mr. Anand, Mr. Neil Guha, the Senior Principal, Mrs. Mary Novate, the Principal and other dignitaries. The Charity House topped the points table and clinched the prestigious Siddappaji Memorial Trophy, with the Truth House finishing as the runner-up. The Peace House bagged the coveted March Past Trophy for the academic year 2025-26.

 Ms. Nivetha Muthukumar is a cherished alumna of Bharathi who represented the Tamil Nadu Badminton team and won numerous medals in the Sub Junior and Junior categories at both state and national-level tournaments. She secured second position in the All India Badminton Rankings in 2016-17. In her address, Ms. Muthukumar fondly recalled her school days at Bharathi and expressed gratitude to the teachers who inspired her to excel in sports. She emphasised that all students should eagerly take part in sports while also maintaining a balance with their academics. The eventful day concluded with a vote of thanks.

The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
