The Raising Ceremony of the NCC army wing of Bharathi School was held on the 10th of November, 2023. Lt. Col. Lalremruata Oinam, Commanding Officer of 4(TN) Battalion NCC, Coimbatore, presided as the Chief Guest and Sub Major P Pandian was the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest congratulated the 25 cadets on getting selected for NCC and motivated them for future endeavours. During his inspiring speech, he stated that the NCC aims to develop character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, and ideals of selfless service among young citizens. The Principal, Mr. Saravanan, presented the dignitaries with mementoes. The programme ended with a NCC Song followed by the national anthem.
The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
