Bharathi School inaugurated the NCC Air Wing on the 15th of November 2023, marking another significant milestone on its journey of developing future leaders. The Chief Guest of the day, Wing Commander M. Pargunan, Commanding Officer of 2(TN) Air Squadron NCC, Coimbatore, inspired the gathering with the motto "Duty, Unity, and Discipline" and explained about NCC and its related activities. The NCC Air Wing is the perfect launchpad for ambitious cadets who wish to soar high in the aviation industry. The guest was honoured with a memento by the Principal, Mr. Saravanan. The Chief Guest inaugurated the NCC room and encouraged the 25 cadets of the NCC Air Wing troop, comprising 15 boys (Junior Division) and 10 girls (Junior Wing) of Grade 8, to pave the way and honour the legacy of Bharathi. The event concluded with the cadets singing the NCC song and the national anthem.
The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
