The 2TN AIR SQN NCC CBE conducted the Combined Annual Training Camp IV (CATC IV) from the 24th of December 2024 to the 2nd of January 2025 at Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology, Pollachi. Twenty-five cadets from Bharathi School participated in this CATC camp, which included eleven schools and six colleges.
The highlights of the camp included firing, drills, aeromodelling, and fire safety training for students. In the CATC competitions, Bharathi students secured first place in drawing (Deekshana V D & Roshan I of grade 9), and the throwball team finished as the runner-up. Our cadets attended a seminar on rainwater harvesting by Siruthuli, an NGO, and participated in cultural events.
CATC IV familiarised the cadets with a regimented way of life and helped them develop camaraderie, teamwork, leadership skills, self-confidence, self-reliance, and dignity of labour.
The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
