With a special devotional assembly, Bharathi celebrated Janmashtami, Lord Krishna's birth. Dressed in traditional attire, the grade 1 and 2 kids staged a mythological play about Lord Krishna with many impressive props. The kids enacted various stages of Lord Krishna's life: his miraculous birth, blissful childhood in Gokul, and butter-stealing frolicking. The kids' Raslila-like group dance depicting Radha, Krishna, the gopis of Vrindavana, and the devotees portrayed the soulful love in the Krishna Bhakti tradition. The celebrations culminated with breaking the handi (pot) that reminisced the mischievous Krishna's love for butter.
