Bharathi initiated Road Safety Patrol (RSP) in 2015 with the objective of inculcating in students the significance of following Road Safety Rules. RSP promotes citizenship values and leadership skills among the participants.
The Road Safety Patrol (RSP) programme for 2024-25 started with an orientation programme by Mr. Thava Murugesan, Sub-Inspector of Police,
Traffic, C3 Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore.
RSP students from grades 6 to 8 participated in this programme in their uniforms, carrying placards
featuring slogans on the importance of wearing helmets, avoiding using mobile phones while driving, and avoiding reckless driving behaviours.
RSP participants spread awareness about Road Safety and manage traffic in front of the school campus. They promote pedestrian safety and responsible
behaviour on the roads. RSP promotes citizenship values and leadership skills among the participants.
Mr. Thava Murugesan, Sub–Inspector of Police, and Mr. Kannan, Head Constable, Traffic, C3 Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore, conducted the Road Safety Patrol awareness programme at the Bharathi School Campus on the 24th of January 2025. RSP students (Grades 6 to 8), NCC Air wing and Army wing 1st-year cadets (grade 8), and Scouts and Guides (grades 6 to 8) participated in this programme. The school conducts awareness sessions to encourage students to follow traffic rules and safety measures and to make them civic-ready.
The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
