In the CISCE National Games & Sports Volleyball Championship 2024 held in Kotagiri on the 17th and 18th of August 2024, Kaavinya S (grade 9), Samatha R, and Mehavardini R (both grade 8) showcased their skills as members of the Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry team (Under-14 girls), successfully lifting the Champion's Trophy. This achievement is a significant milestone in the annals of Bharathi School, as it marks the third consecutive year that volleyball girls have demonstrated their potential on a national platform.
In the ‘CISCE Games & Sports Regional Volleyball Tournament 2024-25’ held at Kotagiri, Bharathi’s under-14 girls’ volleyball team emerged as the runner-up. Samatha R, Mehavardhini R (both from grade 8 ) and Kaavinya S (grade 9) have been selected to be a part of the Tamilnadu and Pondicherry region team and participate in the CISCE National Games & Sports 2024-25. It is noteworthy that Kaavinya S and Mehavardhini R have secured a spot to play at the national competition for the second consecutive time.
The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
