Panchami K S, of grade 9, had the privilege of taking part in the summer STEAM camp “Expanding Girls’ Horizons in Science’ workshop for High School Students” organized by the Centre for Science in Society (C-SiS), Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General Chennai from the 8th to 20th of May, 2023, at the Centre for Science in Society, CUSAT. The participants were exposed to the aspects of STEAM education and recent trends in Science and Technology.
During the valedictory function on the final day of the camp, Panchami was one of the judges on the presiding panel who adjudged candidates under various categories. She also received first prize in the poster-making competition conducted during the camp.
The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
