Mritunjai K and Nithish Kumar C of grade 8 secured first place in the Quiz (sub-junior category) in the Fr. George Hess Memorial Zonal Literary Competitions held at Kotagiri on the 10th of August 2024. This zonal-level interschool competition was conducted by ASISC (The Association of Schools for Indian School Certificate), in which schools from Coimbatore, Sathyamangalam, Sulur, Pollachi, Kotagiri, The Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Coonoor, and Gudalur contested. Mritunjai and Nithish Kumar were selected to participate in regional-level competitions.
In the Fr. George Hess Memorial Regional Literary Competition held in Chennai, the zonal-level winners from all over the state participated to prove their mettle. Mritunjai and Nithish Kumar battled many rounds and emerged as the runner-up in Quiz (sub-junior category).
The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
