An exhilarating trip to the TNAU Botanical Garden gave the kids of LKG to grade 2 a unique chance to connect with nature and explore various plant species. During the visit, the children paid attention to the morphology of the shrubs, climbers, and creepers, with particular emphasis on the shapes of the leaves.
The grade 3 students visited the Children's Traffic Park, where they learned about traffic rules, symbols, signals and road safety. They also gained an understanding of the importance of road discipline.
The grade 4 and 5 students went on a field trip to the Gass Forest Museum, a natural history museum in Coimbatore. They enjoyed learning about various biological specimens preserved by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. In addition to these specimens, the students were amazed by the incredible collection of ten thousand different artefacts, encompassing wooden crafts, wildlife specimens, insects, and butterflies, as well as an assortment of cultural items and displays of ancient weaponry.
The grade 6 students had the opportunity to visit the Gedee Car Museum and the GD Science Museum, which helped them understand what life was like in the 1920s and beyond. In the Gee Dee Car Museum, they observed a splendid collection of over 100 vintage cars, each with a unique story to narrate. Next, in the G.D. Science Museum, they observed an extensive collection of machines and gadgets, making it a highly educational experience.
The seventh-grade students had the opportunity to visit the Insect Museum at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU). The museum had an extensive collection of 27 orders of insects, including butterflies, all neatly preserved. The visit was a great learning experience for the students, as they learned about the evolution, life cycle, and contribution of insects to the planet Earth. After the museum visit, the students were taken to the TNAU Botanical Garden, where they learned about various plants and trees that are used in traditional medicinal treatments.
Grade 8 students went on a field trip to the Regional Science Centre and Science Museum in Coimbatore. The building had four galleries, each showcasing a different aspect of science and technology.
The galleries had exhibits regarding the technologies used in the textile industry, the history of astronomy, scientific principles and numerous engineering concepts. The children learned a great deal about STEM concepts during this trip.
The students of Grade 9 embarked on a captivating journey into the heart of nature. They had the enriching opportunity to explore the wonders of the Nilgiri Biosphere Nature Park. The field trip was a break from their bustling routine and an immersive experience designed to deepen their understanding of the intricate ecosystems that sustain life on our planet.
Experts guided the students as they delved into the lush landscapes of the Butterfly Garden and the fascinating domestic fauna that make up the biosphere. They gained a sense of responsibility towards preserving the delicate harmony of our biosphere.
The Grade 10 students visited a reputed farm house in Pollachi that houses exotic animals, including iguanas, hedgehogs, tortoises, albino squirrels, white snakes, and more. The students also explored beautiful birds like macaws, cockatiels, and ostriches, which they could touch and hold.
The trekking event at Anuvavi Hills in Periya Thadagam, on the outskirts of Coimbatore, provided an incredible opportunity for students of grades 6 to 10 to engage in an adventurous experience. The primary objectives of this event were to foster team spirit, develop a sense of sportsmanship, and instil a deep appreciation for nature. Approximately 100 students actively participated, contributing their energy, enthusiasm, and determination to ensure the success of the trekking expedition.
