Annual School Day - Day 2

Bharathi's  54th Annual School Day (Day 2) featured an impressive high school programme that conveyed self-discovery, inner peace and personal fulfilment through drama, music, dance and spoken word. Mr. Suriya Chinnadurai, Founder of Suriya & Co Chartered Accountants and an alumnus of Bharathi, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. C. Anand and Mrs.Nehaarika Sanjeev, Members of  School Management, and other guests honoured the day with their gracious presence.


The school choir rendered the prayer song, and Ms. Jaishree Mahadevan, Head of the Department of English, welcomed the gathering. Ms.Mary Novate, the principal, highlighted the previous academic year's milestones and noteworthy events in her annual report.

Mr Suriya Chinnadurai went down memory lane to share how his alma mater's motto inspired him to stay focused and achieve his aims. He elucidated why students should leave their comfort zone, stay focused and practise lifelong learning. The Guests honoured the toppers of the Board examinations and students who represented the CISCE Board at the School Games Federation of India with awards.

In the following cultural event, students staged an engaging and diverse mix of performances themed on "finding true happiness within oneself ". It included a dynamic performance of tribal communities, bringing the myth of Eldorado to life, a classical scarecrow character, mythical grim reapers, a thrilling and captivating world of predators, an imaginative portrayal of Groot character, a majestic presentation of ancient Egyptian God, a dramatic reenactment of legendary tomb warriors, skilled monkworriers, and an elegant performance on the orient's mystical land. The final mirror dance, themed on reflection and self-discovery, was the magnum opus of the day's celebrations.

About Bharathi

The School has taken its name after Subramania Bharathi (popularly known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathi’) pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, a fiery independence activist, a remarkable social reformer, and a journalist. He is an archetype of revolutionary thinking, modern ideas, the invincible spirit of freedom and courage. Bharathi School is a quintessence of his tenets in letter and spirit.
