Pongal 2025 celebrations highlighted Tamil Nadu's love for the traditional sport of Jallikattu (bull embracing), reminding the grand events held at Avaniyapuram, Palamedu, and Alanganallur in Madurai district. Mrs. Nehaarika Sanjeev, Member of the Management, graced the festivities. Our school premises were decorated with Kolams and traditional festoons, filling the air with the village's festive spirit. The celebration started with a prayer song followed by a villu paattu performance highlighting the Thai Festival's speciality and uniqueness. Later, the students staged a mime, theming on farmers' importance in this four-day harvest festival.
The cultural programme included students' folk dance performances that displayed our cultural richness in rhythm and graceful movements. It included karagaattam, kolattam, kummi, parai, thappaattam, silambaattam , kuthiraiaattam, oyilaattam, and the like. The students' spirited folk dance performances showed their soulful connection with the community. Impressive displays of Silambam, Uriyadi, Jallikattu, and pyramid formations kept the audience in awe.
Reminiscing about the Mattu Pongal, a bullock cart made a special surprise appearance on the campus, bringing blissful moments to the children. The programme concluded with a grand finale, amalgamating a beautiful blend of all the performances.
